This GPS is the upgraded version of the 296. It's faster refresh rate gives better position resolution. Also features a smart airspace function, voice output and has traffic display abilities. Like the 296 it offers detailed sectional chart style mapping and an extensive database. It is an easy to use and pilot friendly GPS featuring built in basemap showing rivers, lakes, cities highways and state boundaries, it has split screen capabilities to allow you to see not only the map, but also data fields and HSI graphics.
The AvMap EKP-IV belongs to the new generation of portable navigation systems for the aeronautical market. EKP features a 7" colour LCD display, brilliant and sunlight-viewable, batteries sold separately. Thanks to the new menu keys that strategically positioned along the sides of the new case, the unit can operate in Portrait and Landscape mode. EKP-IV utilizes a 512 MB Compact Flash (CF).
