In 1942 with war raging and military pilots in short supply, the US Army Air Force enlisted more than 1000 women aviators to deliver military planes from factories to air bases. These superb pilots flew every aircraft, icluding B-26s, in all kinds of weather,  logging more than six million miles. Yet at the end of WWII, their heroism was left unrecognised.
